Blakeney is an outdoor and action sports industry veteran with 30 years of experience in all facets of the business. He recently joined the Solo Brands group as Vice President of Product for the ISLE brand. He previously served in a multi-faceted role at BIC Sport (now Tahe Outdoors) for 11 years where he helped establish the brand as a leader in the paddleboard market. In 2017, as a personal side-project, he patented the inflatable balance board (Kumo Board), built the brand and ran a successful Kickstarter campaign. In his previous role as brand manager at Confluence Watersports Blakeney spearheaded a complete product and branding overhaul which re-established the brand as market leader. During high school he cut his teeth working in surf shops to fuel his love of board sports. After receiving a BS in Biology and Masters in Science Education from Virginia Tech Jimmy focused on his athletic talents and love of whitewater kayaking, becoming US National Champion in 2003.
