Jimmy Blakeney is a veteran of the outdoor & action sports industries with 30+ years of experience in all aspects of the business. For the past ten years Blakeney has held a multi-faceted role with Tahe Outdoors (formerly BIC Sport) that defies definition. Areas of focus include market analysis to guide range development and pricing strategy,  creating innovative products from concept to market-ready, go to market strategy and execution (B2B & B2C) respecting tight budgets, company spokesperson, on-boarding key clients, e-commerce strategy and growth, website UX, brand story development, catalog & website copy-writing, customer service and warranty oversight and support. In his previous role as brand manager at Confluence Outdoors Blakeney revamped the product & marketing mix for the Wave Sport brand, re-establishing the brand as market leader. After receiving his BS in Biology and MA in Science Education from Virginia Tech Jimmy focused on his athletic talents and love of whitewater kayaking, becoming US National Champion in 2003. More recently his expertise in boardsports and paddlesports, together with a professional educator background, helped him develop the most comprehensive SUP instructional video series available on the web.

ACA Certified SUP Instructor Trainer – Involved in curriculum development and certification of instructors in the rapidly growing sport of Stand Up Paddleboarding. Trained and certified LLBean Outdoor Discovery School staff, REI Staff, Eastern Mountain Sports staff.
