Jimmy Blakeney is a veteran of the outdoor & action sports industries with over 25 years of experience in all facets of the business. For the past six years Blakeney has spearheaded BIC Sport’s product and marketing efforts in the Stand Up Paddle category, helping grow the business more than 400% by co-developing award-winning products together with sales and marketing programs that have established BIC Sport as a market leader in SUP. In his previous role as brand manager at Confluence Watersports Blakeney helped grow the Wave Sport brand over 200% in three years, re-establishing it as the market leader. After receiving his BS in Biology and MA in Science Education from Virginia Tech Jimmy focused on his athletic talents and love of whitewater kayaking, becoming US National Champion in 2003. More recently his expertise in boardsports and paddlesports, together with a professional educator background, helped him develop the most comprehensive SUP instructional video series available on the web. Implemented a comprehensive overhaul of product offerings and marketing strategy, resulting in over 200% growth in a three year period.

    Didn’t expect to come across your mug while researching SUPs. Of course I had to delve further and see what you have been up to. Looks like you have had a great career in water sports. Congrats. Noticed you moved to the RI coast and was wondering if you live on or close to Block Island. There is a good chance my family and I may venture to Block by boat towards the end of the summer and thought it would be good catch up on old times if you are close.
